German Romanticism

  • Paris 75007 France (map)

What does Romanticism in music mean? What makes this music so emotionally stirring and how is it different from the style that came before? With violist Kyle Collins and pianist Ricardo Forcinito, we will explore two masterworks of two titans of German Romanticism, Robert Schumann and Franz Schubert. What unifies these two composers’ styles? What sets them apart from one another? How did they translate their often troubled lives into works that span an array of emotion? Come and discover the answers to these questions and many more in the debut event of the Paris Chamber Music Circle presented by the Friends of the American Conservatory of Paris.

Reception to follow.
